The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent with two years of inspection experience, and licenses/certifications such as IBC/IRC and Texas Plumbing Inspector are expected.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent with two years inspections or related experience.
• Certifications in IBC, IRC, and plumbing codes are preferred or required.
• Licenses such as Texas Plumbing Inspector and driver’s license are needed.
• Bilingual English/Spanish skills are beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Inspect a variety of buildings for compliance with codes and ordinances.
• Maintain detailed written inspection records and prepare cases.
• Answer questions from the public, city staff, contractors and engineers.
• Study code changes and attend educational seminars.
• Work in office and on-site inspections; schedule-based progression.
