Job summary

CBRE in New York seeks a Building Automation System Engineer to provide program oversight for the operation and maintenance of all building automation systems, maximizing efficiency and reducing costs within a large facility.

The role includes preventive maintenance, coordinating with outside contractors, ensuring compliance with codes, and responding to emergencies, with opportunities for advancement and competitive compensation.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma required or equivalent combination of experience and education.
• Licenses or certifications as may be required by local law.
• Prior shift leader or supervisory experience preferred.
• Ability to exercise judgment based on analysis of multiple sources of information.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a total facilities systems management program for electrical, mechanical, life, and safety systems.
• Comply with codes, regulations, and safety directives.
• Inspect systems to ensure operation within design capabilities.
• Oversee scope development, scheduling, and inspection of work by outside contractors.
• Respond to emergencies and coordinate response as needed.
• Review work orders, estimate time and resources, and order materials.
• Perform repairs and preventive maintenance; document records.
