Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Building Automation Applications Engineer to design and document HVAC control systems for commercial projects in the Dallas area. You will review plans, determine the control scope, and produce BAS drawings and submittals to support installation and project delivery.

The role requires 3+ years of BAS/HVAC design experience, BACnet familiarity, and proficiency in MS Office and Visio. Occasional travel is minimal, with a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

3+ years of experience designing or engineering BAS / HVAC control systems.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and Visio.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

Review plans, specifications, and project scopes to develop BAS control drawings.
Create submittal packages including control diagrams, sequences of operation, device schedules, I/O diagrams, and BOMs.
Coordinate with sales, PMs, engineers, and contractors to align on scope, timelines, and milestones.
Submit RFIs when clarification is needed.
Select controllers, sensors, valves, actuators, and other control devices.
Update drawings throughout the project based on feedback and field changes.
Support material ordering to keep projects on schedule.
Communicate with installation teams and support engineering-to-field handoff.
Complete final as-built documentation at project closeout.
