Job summary

Amca in El Segundo seeks an engineer to bring new product designs to life by co-designing products and manufacturing processes with Design and Test teams. You will provide engineering knowledge to quickly execute designs and manufacture them at our facilities to expand Amca’s product catalog.

The role requires hands-on experience in prototyping, manufacturability assessment, and close collaboration with cross-functional engineers to ensure designs are producible at scale.

Qualifications

• Must be hands-on and practical—able to build, test, and troubleshoot in real-world environments.
• Independent and creative; thrives with ownership and minimal oversight.
• Experience with mechanical design and manufacturing processes; apply first-principles thinking to constraints.
• Proficient in CAD, PLM/PDM systems, GD&T, and Materials & Processing.

Responsibilities

• Own prototyping and first builds of new hardware designs.
• Work with Design Engineering teams to understand end-use applications and challenge requirements as needed.
• Take full ownership of manufacturing and build of new product designs.
• Prototype new components with manufacturability, integration, and performance as core constraints.
• Work with Test Engineering to create any needed test tooling.
