Job summary

General Matter in Los Angeles, CA is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to design, develop, and scale manufacturing processes, tools, and test stands for production.

You will work with design engineers to ensure safety, performance, cost, and manufacturability; you'll hands-on assemble hardware, iterate quickly, and refine processes. This role aims to drive down cost of enrichment while delivering reliable systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of professional experience in manufacturing, development, or production engineering.
• Proficient in a 3D CAD package and the ability to make manufacturing drawings using GD&T.
• Hands-on experience building hardware.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement scalable manufacturing processes to ensure reliable, safe systems.
• Collaborate with design engineers to improve manufacturability, performance, safety, and cost.
• Build, assemble, and validate prototypes, test stands, and development units.
• Perform root-cause analysis on test failures and devise hardware mitigations.
• Establish manufacturing and quality practices that scale with the company.
