Job summary

Amca is building America’s new industrial base. The Mechanical Build Engineering role owns build procedures for qualification hardware and iterates builds to ensure production-ready results across factories.

You will be the extreme owner for build process, performing hands-on R&D for new methodologies while collaborating with design engineers to ensure manufacturability of new products.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or advanced degree in aerospace engineering, manufacturing engineering, materials engineering, mechanical engineering or engineering physics.
• 1+ years of engineering experience in manufacturing, design, test, or development (internship and project team experience is applicable).
• Strong understanding of engineering first principles, specifically thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and solid mechanics.

Responsibilities

• Develop build methodology from industry standards and conduct cutting edge R&D to improve on component manufacturing processes.
• Oversee the assembly and manufacturing procedures for both new and existing hardware.
• Act as the extreme owner of DFM changes to part drawings and make changes to drawings to eliminate repeat failures.
• Conduct development campaigns for new manufacturing methods and write specifications on manufacturing best practices.
• Trade purchasing commercial build/manufacturing capabilities off the shelf against designing and developing capabilities in house.
• Act as the extreme owner for various manufacturing methods and be the source of information for design engineers on machines.
