Talent Movers is hiring a Bug Triage Diagnostics Engineer for onsite work in NYC. You will own triage SLAs, review AI-assisted classifications, and perform in-depth Linux log and crash-dump analysis. The role requires strong experience with Linux-based systems and high-volume bug trackers.

Qualifications

• 5-8+ years in technical support, QA, or triage engineering for Linux-based or embedded/consumer hardware products.
• Deep knowledge of Linux kernel logs, crash dumps, and basic driver-level debugging.
• Experience with high-volume bug/issue trackers and triage workflows (Buganizer, Jira, or similar).
• Ability to critically evaluate AI-generated classification or root-cause output rather than accepting it at face value.

Responsibilities

• Own initial triage SLA: under 4 hours for P0/P1 defects, under 8 hours for P2/P3, from intake to classification.
• Review automated triage decisions and correct misclassifications and escalations.
• Perform log and crash-dump analysis to extract structured signals from diagnostics data.
• Reproduce defects when possible and document repro steps, environment, and observed vs. expected results.
• Run duplicate and known-issue checks beyond automated shortlists, especially for prose-style reports.
• Validate AI-drafted root-cause hypotheses against cited evidence before actions.
• Escalate critical defects to the Senior ChromeOS Platform Engineer with clear diagnostics.
• Participate in daily triage stand-up during US-day handover.
