Job summary

State of Colorado’s Division of Child Welfare seeks a senior Budget and Policy Analyst to lead budgeting, fiscal oversight, data analysis, and policy interpretation across statewide programs. This role provides guidance to leadership and counties, ensuring compliant, data-driven decisions for funding and program operations.

The position participates in the Allocation Committee, develops allocation models, and produces essential reports for decision-makers at state and federal levels.

Qualifications

• Seven years of relevant experience in government budgeting, policy, or related fields.
• CPA license can substitute for degree and two years of experience.
• Strong writing and communication skills for high-level audiences.

Responsibilities

• Budget development, execution, and fiscal oversight for statewide programs, including allocations and grants.
• Data management, validation, and evaluation to support decision-making and program improvement.
• Develop high-profile annual and ad hoc reports for legislative and federal partners.
