Texas Department of Public Safety seeks a Senior Budget Analyst to perform advanced budget preparation, analysis, and forecasting. This role involves coordinating data with internal divisions, state agencies, and oversight bodies to inform budget decisions and reports.

The position requires a bachelor’s in accounting or related field (preferred) and at least three years of relevant experience, with strong analytical and reporting skills. Travel and occasional telecommuting may be required.

Competenze

• Education: High school diploma required; bachelor's degree preferred in Accounting, Auditing, Business Administration, Management, Public Administration, or related field.
• Experience: Minimum of three years in accounting, budget preparation and analysis, financial management, or related areas; substitution of education for experience allowed.
• Licensure: Valid driver's license.
• Technology: Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CAPPS/SharePoint/USAS/Tableau; ability to learn new software.

Mansioni

• Gather, analyze, interpret, organize, and report budget data.
• Analyze expenditure patterns and lead budget preparation and forecasting efforts.
• Coordinate work with COC, division staff, and other state agencies.
• Prepare reports for external reporting and legislative requests (LAR, fiscal notes, performance measures).
• Balance and reconcile GAA-related budgets and operating budgets annually.
• Forecast budget expenditures monthly and reconcile balances.
• Prepare monthly budget analyses for senior leadership and Public Safety Commission meetings.
• Attend executive meetings and participate in internal committees.
