Job summary

Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission in Tallahassee seeks a Budget Analyst B SES to manage budgeting, accounting, and financial analysis for the Office of Executive Direction and Administrative Support Services. The role requires close collaboration with multiple programs and ongoing budget forecasting to ensure fiscal accuracy.

The incumbent will coordinate monthly reports, assist with budget amendments, and provide guidance on policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional work experience in budget, accounting, and/or financial management; or a Bachelor's degree with 3+ years experience.
• Employment contingent upon a satisfactory criminal history check.
• Office hours 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. EST; not eligible for Telework.
• Cover letter required with information on any employment gaps.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate budgeting, accounting, and financial management for the OED budget entity.
• Serve as budgetary liaison for programs/offices; assess operational needs.
• Develop understanding of program needs and assist in budget management.
• Prepare, analyze, and interpret allotments, expenditures, and encumbrances.
• Develop monthly office budget reports and projections to identify surpluses/deficits.
• Provide directive guidance to improve budget management.
• Create ad-hoc reports on request.
• Prepare salary forecasts regularly or as assigned.
• Act as Budget Officer for the OED budget entity.
