Seattle Housing Authority is seeking a Senior Budget Analyst to join our team. The role focuses on complex financial analysis, program decision support, and preparing budgets across functional areas in a public sector context.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, statistics, public administration, or related field.
• Six years of public sector budgeting and finance experience.
• Master’s degree and/or CPA license with audit experience preferred, but not required.

Responsabilités

• Provide technical expertise and independent technical knowledge in accounting, auditing and forecasting practices and terminology applicable to public and private sector accounting.
• Prepare financial forecasts for SHA funds and departments using financial forecasting methodology.
• Perform varied and complex accounting and budget analyses requiring independent judgment.
• Analyze multi-million dollar budget requests, including analysis of program plans, organizational changes and legislative impacts.
• Write clear and concise reports explaining financial matters and budget issues to non-financial personnel.
• Recognize and identify policy and program issues and financial issues.
• Review, investigate, and explain budget variances to department directors.
