Job summary

Tacoma Public Schools in Tacoma, WA, seeks an experienced Budget Analyst to provide complex, in-depth financial and budget analysis for the District. The role requires a Bachelor's in finance or accounting, at least four years in budget analysis, strong forecasting, and proficiency with accounting systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in public administration, business administration, finance, or accounting.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• Four years of progressively responsible experience in budget/financial analysis.

Responsibilities

• Analyze state apportionment revenue and enrollment data.
• Lead analyses of revenues and expenditures for major programs.
• Review budgets with management and document assumptions.
• Prepare labor negotiation cost/impact analyses.
• Assist with development of District budget and forecasts.
• Develop and implement new financial reports and systems.
• Train staff on financial reporting techniques.
• Forecast cash flow and reconcile with county treasurer.
• Support position control reports and data accuracy.
• Develop and implement budget, accounting policies.
• Prepare monthly/quarterly financial reports and charts.
• Prepare presentations to Board and staff.
