Job summary

Steel Ceilings, a subsidiary of Armstrong World Industries, seeks an Advanced Machine Operator in Johnstown, OH to operate and set up a Bruck perforating press for high-precision perforation work in metal fabrication. The role requires ownership of setup, quality verification, and problem resolution on shift.

You will troubleshoot runability issues, read blueprints, and maintain tight tolerances across long and short production runs, with shift differentials on 2nd and 3rd shifts.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5+ years of industrial press operation experience.
• Ability to independently perform machine setups and changeovers.
• Experience maintaining tight dimensional tolerances.
• Proven troubleshooting ability in a production environment.
• Perforating press experience strongly preferred.
• Equivalent experience with stamping presses acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Set up, calibrate, and operate the Bruck perforating press per job orders.
• Prepare tooling and dies for perforation patterns.
• Program or adjust machine controls (feed rates, stroke, servo software).
• Perform complete machine setup and changeovers.
• Install and align die-based perforation tooling.
• Configure feed systems and material alignment.
• Conduct first-piece validation and adjust before production.
• Diagnose and correct hole misalignment and feed issues.
• Maintain runability during long and short production runs.
• Read blueprints and inspect with precision tools.
• Document inspections and production results.
• Identify defects and implement corrective actions.
