Job summary

Armstrong World Industries is seeking an Advanced Machine Operator at our Johnstown, OH facility to operate and set up a Bruck perforating press for high-precision perforated metal production. The role requires ownership on shift, including setup, adjustment, quality checks, and independent problem resolution.

The position involves margins of high-speed runs and short orders, with a 2nd shift from 2:45 PM to 11:00 PM and a $1.00/hr differential.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of industrial press operation experience.
• Ability to independently perform machine setups and changeovers.
• Proven troubleshooting ability in a production environment.
• Perforating press or high-speed mechanical presses preferred.
• Equivalent experience with stamping/punch presses acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Set up, calibrate, and operate the Bruck perforating press per orders.
• Prepare tooling, dies, gag bars, feed systems for perforation.
• Program or adjust machine controls and parameters.
• Conduct first-piece validation and adjustments before production.
• Diagnose and correct feed tracking issues and burr formation.
• Maintain high-precision tolerances across materials.
