Job summary

Mediacom Communications is looking for a Broadband Specialist IV in Geneseo, IL. This role is responsible for maintaining the HFC plant with routine maintenance, system testing, and troubleshooting, requiring a high school diploma or GED and experience as a Broadband Specialist III. The position offers a salary range of $22.00 to $26.00 per hour, along with extensive benefits including paid training and a vehicle.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 6 months as Broadband Specialist III or equivalent cable technician experience.
• Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record required.
• Knowledge of HFC plant, installs, and service calls.

Responsibilities

• Conduct system tests such as signal/noise and return loss bridge.
• Set trunk levels and change out trunk amplifiers.
• Maintain power supplies and install electronics.

Skills

Advanced mechanical skills for splicing

Ability to troubleshoot customer premise equipment

Ability to work in high or tight spaces

Ability to work flexibly

Education

High school diploma or GED

Associate's degree preferred
