Job summary

Mediacom Communications is seeking a Broadband Specialist IV, Maintenance to perform field technical work maintaining the HFC plant from node to tap and to troubleshoot trunk systems. The role emphasizes accurate testing, equipment setup, safety, and on-call duties.

You will install, test, and repair CATV distribution and HSD systems, climb poles, and work flexible hours while delivering reliable service to customers across multiple states.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or GED; an associate degree is preferred.
• Ability to interact and communicate with customers and co-workers.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime as required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct system tests such as signal/noise, signal/hum, sweep, and return loss; RF knowledge and troubleshooting.
• Set trunk levels, install and change out trunk amplifiers, and calculate signal losses.
• Install electronics, maintain power supplies, and use test equipment properly.
• Troubleshoot and repair coaxial and fiber distribution systems.
• Climb poles and ladders, lift up to 100 lbs, and work in confined spaces.
• Provide estimates, prepare bill of materials, and assist other team members.
