Job summary

HNTB Michigan is seeking a lead engineer to direct design staff for bridges and transportation structures across multiple Michigan offices, including Grand Rapids. You will mentor up to 5 engineers, manage scope, schedule, and budgets, and coordinate with clients and teaming partners to deliver complex projects.

Experience in analytical design, project delivery, and cross-disciplinary coordination is required along with PE licensing in Michigan or eligibility to become licensed within 6 months.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 8+ years of relevant experience, or
Master’s degree with 7+ years, or
PhD with 6+ years in engineering for bridges/transportation structures.

Responsibilities

Lead design and delivery of bridges and transportation structures on complex projects.
Mentor and train design staff; manage scope, schedule and budget.
Coordinate with clients and teammates; assist in proposals and marketing.
Ensure accuracy and completeness of project team outputs in the discipline.
Develop and review conceptual and detailed designs using current tools.
