Job summary

WSP USA is seeking an experienced Senior Structural Engineer - Bridges to join the Northern New England Transportation Group, located in the Merrimack, NH or Eliot, ME offices. This role provides technical design leadership for both small and large bridge projects and mentors junior engineers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering or closely related discipline.
• 7+ years of relevant post-education experience in structural or civil design.
• Registered Professional Engineer, preferably NH/VT/ME or ability to obtain PE.
• Proficient knowledge of structural engineering principles and design/build.
• Strong technical computations and plan interpretation skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities for engineering and non-engineering audiences.
• Experience leading bridge designs as Engineer of Record and mentoring juniors.

Responsibilities

• Perform professional structural engineering analysis and design of bridges and related structures.
• Lead projects through concept, preliminary and final design, procurement and construction.
• Develop plans, specifications, quantities, and cost estimates.
• Coordinate with disciplines, subconsultants, and clients; utilize design software.
• Prepare technical reports and presentations; ensure data integrity and regulatory compliance.
• Provide guidance and training to entry-level engineers; QA/QC adherence.
