Job summary

Greenman-Pedersen, Inc. (GPI) seeks a Bridge Project Engineer for our Maryland/Delaware offices. You will perform structural analyses, develop design options, and coordinate plans for transportation projects serving federal, state and local clients.

The ideal candidate has a B.S. in Structural Engineering, 4+ years of bridge experience; PE licensure is preferred. MDOT/DelDOT/VDOT exposure and strong communication skills are essential in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Structural Engineering required; M.S. preferred.
• Professional Engineer licensure preferred.
• At least 4 years of bridge engineering experience on public sector projects.
• Experience with MDOT-SHA/MDOT-MDTA/DelDOT/VDOT is a plus.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct structural analyses, evaluations and designs with supporting calculations.
• Review structural documents for conflicts with other disciplines.
• Develop plans, specifications and estimates for bridge projects.
• Perform quality control reviews of work by junior staff.
• Assist planning and management of bridge inspection and rehabilitation projects.
• Coordinate reviews with agencies for code compliance.
• Lead routine bridge inspections for state and local agencies.
• Manage and review load rating computations for structures.
• Develop and coordinate design recommendation reports.
• Oversee bridge hydrology and hydraulics analyses.
