Job summary

Maine Department of Transportation in Augusta, ME seeks a Bridge Management Engineer to direct daily operations of the Bridge Management Unit within the Asset Management Office. You will oversee management and investment in bridge infrastructure to maximize improvements included in the Work Plan.

The role requires PE licensure and substantial civil engineering and managerial experience, influencing funding levels, treatment strategies, and department capital goals.

Qualifications

• Licensed as a Professional Engineer and four (4) years of experience in Civil Engineering at the professional level, along with two (2) years of experience performing complex engineering functions related to the planning, project development, and/or maintenance of public works structures and facilities and four (4) years of managerial experience

Responsibilities

• Direct the day to day operations of the Bridge Management Unit within the MaineDOT’s Asset Management Office under MaineDOT’s Chief Engineer
• Responsible for the efficient management and investment in the Bridge Infrastructure to maximize the value of improvements included in the Department’s Work Plan
• Identify bridge needs, recommend funding levels, develop treatment strategies, and evaluate treatment effectiveness and progress towards capital goals
