Job summary

The State of New Hampshire is seeking an Asset Engineer for the Bureau of Bridge Maintenance to supervise asset management programs, develop and track plans, and report outcomes. The role requires coordination with internal and external groups to meet asset management goals and to ensure data accuracy across the department.

Key responsibilities include field assessments, data analysis for prioritizing work, cost tracking, and implementing quality controls.

Qualifications

  • Master of Science in civil engineering from a recognized college or university.
  • Four years of post-baccalaureate experience in civil engineering.
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering with six years' post-baccalaureate experience.
  • Associate's degree in civil technology with six years' related experience at Civil Engineer I level plus two years as Engineering Technician.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and documents Bridge Maintenance programs following Department guidelines.
  • Oversees tracking, reporting and communication of Bridge Maintenance achievements to management and committees.
  • Performs field reconnaissance to assess condition and perform structural calculations for maintenance, rehab, or replacement.
  • Assembles and analyzes data to support a prioritized Bridge Maintenance work plan and coordinates with other departments.
  • Develops and manages reports on Bridge Maintenance accomplishments and costs; tracks performance measures.
  • Coordinates training and implements quality control/assurance for data in Bridge Asset Management systems.
