West Virginia Department of Transportation is seeking a Transportation Engineer to serve as Area Construction Engineer for Kanawha, Putnam, Mason, Boone, and Clay counties. The role covers planning, design, construction, maintenance, and operation of highways and related facilities.

Qualified candidates will hold a WV P.E. license (or be eligible for comity within 6 months) and possess a ABET-accredited degree. Travel may be required and a valid driver’s license is essential.

Qualifications

• Licensed Professional Engineer in West Virginia or eligible for comity within 6 months.
• Bachelor’s degree in an ABET-accredited engineering program.

Responsibilities

• Act as Area Construction Engineer for Kanawha, Putnam, Mason, Boone, and Clay counties.
• Plan, design, construct, maintain, and operate highways and related facilities and structures.
• Make engineering decisions within policy framework and may set objectives and goals.
