Job summary

Dewberry in Boston, MA is seeking a Structural (Bridge) Engineering Practice Leader to guide the delivery of major transportation infrastructure projects across Massachusetts and New England. You will lead multidisciplinary teams, oversee performance, mentor talent, and shape the future of the transportation practice.

This leadership role requires a PE with 15+ years of bridge experience, a track record with MassDOT/MBTA, and strong client relationships.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering; Massachusetts PE license required.
15+ years of progressive experience delivering bridge and transportation infrastructure projects with project management responsibility.
Experience delivering projects for MassDOT, MBTA, Massport and other public transportation agencies.
Strong knowledge of AASHTO, FHWA, MassDOT, MBTA standards.
Experience with design-build delivery and accelerated bridge construction techniques preferred.
Excellent client management, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

Lead the planning, design, and delivery of bridge and transportation structure projects from concept through construction.
Serve as a technical and strategic leader for bridge projects including new structures, rehabilitations, widenings, and replacements.
Manage project scope, budgets, schedules, quality, and client expectations to ensure successful project outcomes.
Build and strengthen the bridge practice by cultivating future project managers and technical leaders within the organization.
Serve as a trusted advisor and client manager for public agencies and utility clients.
Mentor and provide technical guidance to engineers and project staff.
Collaborate with marketing teams on client strategies, capture plans, proposals, and pursuit efforts.
Support business development initiatives, including proposal development, client relationship management, and strategic growth efforts.
Build, develop, and retain a high-performing team in partnership with Operations and HR.
Lead cross-functional teams and foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and excellence.
