Job summary

CHA Consulting, Inc. invites a seasoned bridge leader to guide the New England regional Bridge practice from our Burlington/Boston/Norwell offices or Hartford, CT. You will shape strategy, lead multidisciplinary teams, strengthen client relationships, and drive delivery of complex infrastructure programs.

You bring a PE license, 15+ years in bridge/structural engineering, and a track record in business development with MassDOT/CTDOT. This role offers regional impact and performance challenges.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering; Master's degree preferred.
• Minimum of 15 years of progressive engineering experience with technical leadership and PM
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required
• Expert knowledge of engineering fundamentals and bridge/structural specialty areas
• Advanced proficiency with engineering software (Revit, AutoCAD, MicroStation) and MS Office
• Experience with New England DOTs (MassDOT, CTDOT, RIDOT); MassDOT experience highly preferred
• Proven leader with strategic, technical, and client-focused capabilities
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Participation in professional societies preferred
• Strong QA/QC, business practices, and engineering law understanding
• Strong background in business development and client relationships
• Ability to inspire and build relationships across the company
• Experience with project budgeting and financial oversight

Responsibilities

• Lead and inspire bridge professionals across New England, maintaining team morale and technical excellence
• Oversee staffing, resources, and operations to deliver bridge projects
• Mentor staff and managers to ensure high-quality, on-time, within-budget work
• Directly manage bridge/structural projects from planning through design, construction, and closeout
• Strengthen agency and client relationships and identify growth opportunities
• Monitor project financial performance and drive improvements
• Maintain clear communication with leadership and project teams on milestones
• Champion QA, risk management, and audits for safe, reliable bridge solutions
