Job summary

Weston & Sampson is seeking a Senior Bridge Engineer to lead bridge design and project delivery for critical transportation projects in New England. The preferred office is Rocky Hill, CT, with consideration for Foxborough, MA; Boston, MA; Worcester, MA; Manchester, NH; and Albany, NY.

You will manage DOT and local government bridge projects, including replacements, rehabilitation, preservation, and load ratings, guiding a team of engineers and designers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil or structural engineering.
• Registered PE in Connecticut or ability to become registered preferred.
• 12-20 years of progressive structural/bridge design experience, including leadership of large projects in CT.
• Experience in steel, concrete, and prestressed concrete bridge design, inspection, and load rating.
• Strong knowledge of AASHTO LRFD and AASHTO Bridge Evaluation procedures.
• Proficiency in design/analysis software listed in tools.
• NBIS certification is a plus.
• Experience with CTDOT standards and manuals.
• Ability to lead design efforts, manage budgets, schedules, and multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Manage and lead bridge design projects from concept through construction.
• Oversee technical design teams, ensuring compliance with AASHTO, DOT, and local standards.
• Collaborate with Project Managers to manage client relationships and drive delivery.
• Review and assist with structural calculations, plans, and specs.
• Lead mentoring and development of junior engineers.
• Support proposal development and business growth through technical leadership.
