Job summary

Weston & Sampson is seeking a Senior Bridge Engineer to lead design and project delivery for transportation projects in Connecticut and New England. Preferred Rocky Hill, CT office; Foxborough, Boston, Worcester, Manchester, NH, and Albany, NY offices also considered.

You will manage DOT/local bridge projects, guide engineers and designers, review calculations, and mentor junior staff while pursuing growth opportunities within a 100% employee-owned firm.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil or structural engineering is required; Master’s degree preferred.
• 12-20 years of progressive structural/bridge engineering design experience, including leadership of large-scale DOT or municipal projects.
• Experience with CTDOT standards, steel/concrete/prestressed bridge design, and load rating.

Responsibilities

• Manage and lead bridge design projects from concept through construction.
• Oversee technical design teams ensuring compliance with AASHTO, DOT, and local standards.
• Collaborate with Project Managers to manage client relationships and drive project delivery, quality, and performance.
• Review and assist with structural calculations, plans, and specifications.
• Lead mentoring and development of junior engineers; foster technical and professional growth.
• Support proposal development and business growth through technical leadership.
