Job summary

Tetra Tech in Marlborough, MA is seeking a Senior Bridge Engineer to lead a Massachusetts structural team on MassDOT Highway projects. You will direct technical delivery, mentor staff, and shape a high-performing bridge group while delivering rehabilitation, load ratings, and new designs.

You will collaborate with roadway, geotechnical, drainage, and construction teams, ensure MassDOT standards and AASHTO LRFD compliance, and pursue growth in client relationships.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with structural emphasis; 8+ years of experience.
• Professional Structural Engineer License (MA).
• Experience with AutoCAD/Civil 3D, AASHTO LRFD and bridge design software.
• Experience with MassDOT Highway Division Bridge Manual and standards.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team environment.
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, analysis, and design of a broad range of bridge projects for MassDOT and others.
• Perform and supervise structural calculations, load ratings, and rehab/replacement evaluations.
• Prepare and review contract plans, specs, estimates, and design documentation.
• Coordinate with roadway, traffic, geotechnical, drainage, and construction teams.
• Provide technical leadership and QA/QC for bridge design tasks.
• Support scoping, fee development, and proposal efforts for growth.
