Job summary

LJB Inc. in Kernersville, North Carolina, is seeking a Senior Structural Bridge Engineer to join our Transportation Practice and lead bridge design projects from concept through final delivery.

The ideal candidate has a B.S. in civil engineering with a structural emphasis, a PE license, 10+ years of bridge/culvert design, and DOT package experience; a MS degree and established DOT relationships are a plus.

Qualifications

• B.S. in civil engineering with a structural emphasis.
• PE license required.
• 10+ years of bridge/culvert design experience.
• DOT bridge design experience and understanding of DOT guidelines.
• Knowledge of AASHTO LRFD and Bridge Evaluation manuals.

Responsibilities

• Design bridges from preliminary to final design.
• Develop specs, cost estimates, and bid packages.
• Coordinate with DOTs, municipalities, and project managers.
• Mentor junior engineers and lead design teams.
• Lead design-build and design-bid-build projects.
