Job summary

Mannik Smith Group in Orlando, FL is seeking a Senior Bridge Engineer with 15+ years of bridge design and project leadership. You will guide complex DOT projects, mentor junior engineers, and set technical direction for the structures practice.

You will ensure designs meet AASHTO LRFD and FDOT standards, deliver engineering reports, and collaborate across teams to win work and deliver quality structures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (ABET-accredited).
• Licensed PE (PE/SE in Florida preferred; ability to obtain Florida registration required).
• 10+ years post-registration structural engineering experience.
• 15+ years bridge design and plans production experience (concrete, steel, retaining walls, culverts, etc.).
• Proficiency with bridge design software (FB Multi-Pier, Leap Bridge, CSi, STAAD, FDOT tools, etc.).
• Expert-level CADD proficiency (OpenBridge, MicroStation, GEOPAK, AutoCAD, or similar).
• Deep knowledge of AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications and FDOT standards.
• Proven ability to mentor junior staff and guide technical teams.
• Excellent communication, analytical, and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex DOT and transportation structure projects with calculations and reports.
• Mentor junior engineers and guide project teams.
• Respond to RFIs, review shop drawings, and support construction phase.
• Set technical direction and ensure designs meet AASHTO LRFD and FDOT standards.
• Support business development and project delivery.
