Job summary

Stanley Consultants is seeking a Senior Bridge Engineer for the Des Moines, IA office to lead design tasks for steel and concrete bridges and to coordinate with CADD teams. You will ensure plans, specifications, and estimates meet design standards and contract requirements.

The ideal candidate holds a PE in Iowa with 10+ years of bridge/structural design experience and demonstrates proficiency with multiple bridge types, codes, and advanced software. Hybrid work options are offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering (Masters/PhD a plus).
• Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) in Iowa.
• Minimum of 10+ years' structural/bridge engineering design experience.
• Experience with design of concrete/steel bridges, walls, and minor structures.
• Proficiency in relevant design codes and software: MathCAD, STAAD Pro, LEAP Bridge, MDX, MicroStation, Midas, LARSA 4D.

Responsibilities

• Lead and perform engineering design tasks and coordinate with CADD teams for plans, specs, and estimates.
• Identify technical requirements and ensure quality control of work.
• Apply design standards and ensure contract compliance across disciplines.
• Participate in technical meetings and develop project scope, fees, and planning.
• Assist in construction reviews, RFIs, and shop drawing reviews.
