The Division of Engineering Services (DES), Program/Project Management and Office Engineer (PPM&OE), Office of Project Delivery & Structures Contract Management (OPD&SCM) is recruiting for a Senior Bridge Engineer (Sr BE) (Specialist) position located in Sacramento.
Under general direction from the Chief, Office of Project Delivery & Structures Contract Management, the Contract Manager, a Sr BE (Specialist), is the authorized representative of the State of California responsible for procuring, administering contracts, and monitoring the consultant's performance to ensure compliance with all contract provisions and to ensure the efficient use of state funds to produce maximum value.

Eligibility for hire may be determined by your score on the Senior Bridge Engineer exam. If you do not have current eligibility or are new to state civil service, you must be on the state examination list. To apply for the exam, search by classification title on the CalCareers website.

Position located at 1801 30th Street, Sacramento, Sacramento County.
Work is primarily in a climate-controlled office, but travel and fieldwork are required, exposing incumbents to various environmental conditions. Telework may be available at the department's discretion, but in-person attendance may be required based on operational needs.
The SOQ should be no more than 2 pages, single-spaced, 12-point font, addressing: experience and responsibilities; policies and procedures; communication and negotiation skills; budget management and data analytics.
Candidates must pass a DOJ background check and sign CHP Form 101A annually. Verification of qualifications is required prior to interview or appointment. Foreign degrees require an evaluation report.
