Job summary

Kimley-Horn in Orlando, Florida is seeking an experienced Bridge Designer to join our Structures team. You will work on bridges and related structural design projects across public and private sectors, preparing plans, specs, and estimates with OpenRoads, MicroStation, and OpenBridges.

The role requires a hands-on engineer with 8+ years of bridge design experience, strong communication, and the ability to mentor others.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of Bridge Design experience.
• Strong communication and writing skills.
• Ability to work independently and with a team.
• Willingness to mentor and teach others.

Responsibilities

• Work on bridges, retaining walls, and other structural design projects.
• Prepare bridge plans, specs and estimates using OpenRoads, MicroStation, and/or OpenBridge.
• Quality check drawings and plans of substantial complexity; perform calculations when needed.
• Work with minimal supervision to complete day-to-day tasks.
• Apply engineering principles and suggest design changes.
• Maintain drawing database and project schedules for quality control.
