Job summary

Kimley-Horn in Fort Worth, TX is seeking engineering students for an internship at our Fort Worth office. This non-remote role provides hands-on exposure to bridge and structural projects, with supervision to guide deliverables.

You will use AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Excel, MicroStation, VISSIM, Open Roads, Synchro and GIS to support pre-construction tasks, learn regulations, and collaborate across disciplines to shape client projects and the built environment.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing ABET-accredited engineering degree (Bachelors or Masters).
  • Majors include Civil and/or Environmental Engineering.
  • Structural Engineering.
  • Mechanical, Electrical, Biological, Biosystems, Chemical, or Agricultural Engineering.
  • Engineering Technology.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize technical software programs on a regular basis to analyze, produce, and QC deliverables for our clients.
  • Contribute to the pre-construction on structural projects like bridges, retaining walls, and other structural design efforts related to public and/or private bridge projects.
  • Prepare bridge/structural plans, specifications and estimates for clients
  • Solve complex problems, assist project managers, and collaborate across disciplines to produce our clients’ visions for the future built environment.
  • Develop familiarity with the federal, state, and local regulations, as well as Kimley-Horn’s and our client’s practices, procedures, and standards.
  • Structural Interns will learn one or more software programs: AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Excel, Microstation, VISSIM, Open Roads, Synchro and/or GIS
