Job summary

Arcadis is seeking a Senior Bridge Engineer to lead bridge and structural projects in our Atlanta and Florida teams. You will guide junior staff, coordinate with multidisciplinary groups, and ensure compliance with DOT and AASHTO LRFD standards.

You will manage multiple projects, mentor engineers, perform inspections and load ratings, and contribute to proposals and client engagements. This role emphasizes technical leadership and collaboration within a global engineering leader.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field.
• 10+ years of bridge design experience.
• Experience working with state DOT standards (DOT or comparable DOT experience preferred).
• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver bridge and structural projects (new design, inspection, repair, rehabilitation), providing technical direction while overseeing plans, calculations, specifications, and QA/QC compliance with DOT and AASHTO LRFD standards.
• Apply deep expertise in bridge design and analysis, utilizing tools like Bentley OpenBridge, MIDAS Civil, and CADD platforms to develop high-quality solutions.
• Manage multiple concurrent projects with accountability for delivery, schedule, budget, and risk.
• Lead and mentor multidisciplinary teams, developing junior engineers and fostering a collaborative project environment.
• Perform and oversee bridge inspections and load ratings, delivering accurate reports and actionable recommendations.
• Partner with internal teams and external stakeholders to deliver innovative, cost-effective solutions and communicate complex technical concepts.
• Support business development and growth initiatives, including proposals, scope/fee development, and client engagement.
