Job summary

Arcadis is seeking a Senior Bridge Engineer for our Atlanta and Florida projects. You will serve as a technical lead for bridge and structural engineering, guiding junior staff and CAD technicians while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver innovative, high-quality solutions.

You will work with state DOTs and contractors, applying your expertise to design, inspect, and rehab bridges, while mentoring peers and ensuring QA/QC and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field
• 10+ years of bridge design experience
• Experience with state DOT standards (DOT or comparable DOT experience preferred)
• Professional Engineer (PE) license
• Valid driver’s license

Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver bridge and structural projects, providing technical direction while overseeing plans, calculations, specifications, and QA/QC compliance with DOT and AASHTO LRFD standards
• Apply deep expertise in bridge design and analysis, utilizing advanced tools such as Bentley OpenBridge Designer, MIDAS Civil, AASHTO BrR, MathCAD, and CADD platforms (MicroStation, OpenBridge Modeler, Civil 3D) to develop high-quality engineering solutions.
• Manage multiple concurrent projects with full accountability for technical delivery, schedule, budget, and risk, ensuring efficient execution and high-performance outcomes.
• Lead and mentor multidisciplinary teams, developing junior engineers and fostering a collaborative, high-performing project environment.
• Perform and oversee bridge inspections and load ratings, delivering accurate reports and actionable recommendations aligned with regulatory requirements.
• Partner with internal teams and external stakeholders to deliver innovative, cost-effective solutions, while effectively communicating complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
• Support business development and growth initiatives, including proposals, scope/fee development, and client engagement; represent the firm in client meetings, industry organizations, and conferences.
