S.M.H. Construction Co., Inc. is seeking a Bridge Construction Superintendent to lead major infrastructure and structural bridge projects across West Virginia from the Charleston area.

You will direct field crews, subcontractors, and site logistics to drive safe, on-time, and on-budget project execution. The role requires a strong track record in bridge construction, ability to interpret complex drawings, and proactive coordination with leadership to maintain quality and schedule.

Qualifications

• 10 years of progressive field construction leadership experience focusing on bridge projects.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering plans and contract specs.
• Experience planning field logistics, look-ahead scheduling, and coordinating crews and vendors.

Responsibilities

• Direct daily field operations for bridge construction projects, ensuring safety, schedule, and budget adherence.
• Oversee abutment construction, pile driving, beam setting, and deck forming.
• Plan site logistics, develop look-ahead plans, and coordinate crews, subcontractors, and material vendors.
• Review drawings and specs to verify site accuracy and compliance with contracts.
• Communicate progress, changes, and issues with senior leadership and project managers.
• Mentor site personnel to foster a safety-first, high-performing field culture.
