Job summary

23andMe Research Institute, a newly established nonprofit focused on genetic discovery and scientific advancement, seeks a Senior Brand Designer to shape its visual identity and campaigns.

You will lead integrated brand efforts across digital, print, and events, develop digital storytelling assets, and mentor junior designers while collaborating with scientists, communications, philanthropy, and partnerships.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in brand or marketing design, with at least 2 years in a senior or lead role.
• strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in typography, layout, color, and digital identity.
• experience leading creative projects and directing external vendors.
• proficiency in Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, and AI-assisted design tools
• excellent storytelling, presentation, and collaboration skills
• ability to manage multiple projects independently

Responsibilities

• design integrated brand campaigns across digital, print, and event platforms
• develop digital storytelling assets like web pages, social content, and data visualizations
• create visual identities for events, philanthropy materials, and partnerships
• lead creative direction and manage external agencies
• evolve and maintain the Institute’s visual system
• collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including scientists, communications, philanthropy, and partnerships
• mentor junior designers and set creative standards
