Job summary

Perle is seeking Bosnian transcription experts to convert native speaker audio into precise, time-aligned transcripts. You will exercise expert linguistic judgment for dialectal orthography, speaker attribution, and non-speech events, ensuring high-quality outputs for AI model training.

Work involves coordinating with QA reviewers, adhering to Perle's style guide, and delivering accurate transcripts under project deadlines.

Qualifications

• Native fluency in Bosnian with long residence in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
• Mastery of Bosnian Latin orthography; Cyrillic awareness where applicable.
• Ability to distinguish Bosnian from Croatian and Serbian in mixed audio.
• Familiarity with Turkish and Arabic loanwords in Bosnian speech.
• At least two years of professional transcription, captioning, or linguistic annotation experience.
• Demonstrated accuracy at the word level under deadline pressure.
• Comfortable with web-based annotation platforms and high-quality headphones.

Responsibilities

• Transcribe audio recordings into accurate, time-aligned written text per Perle's style guide.
• Apply conventions for speaker IDs, overlaps, disfluencies, fillers and non-speech events.
• Make orthographic decisions for dialectal and code-switched speech.
• Flag ambiguous segments and audio quality issues for QA.
• Self-review each submission against Perle's quality bar prior to delivery.
• Engage with QA reviewers on edge cases and style updates.
