Perle is seeking Belarusian transcription experts to convert audio into precise, time-aligned transcripts following a project-specific style guide. You will decide on orthography for dialectal speech and code-switching, identify non-speech events, and self-review before submission.
Work involves distinguishing Belarusian from trasyanka and Russian, handling overlapping speech, and collaborating with QA on edge cases and style updates. Remote freelance work with flexible schedules.
THE ROLE
We are hiring expert Belarusian transcribers to convert audio recordings of native speakers into precise, conventionally formatted written transcripts. The work powers speech recognition, dialogue, and evaluation systems for major AI labs. Audio ranges from clean studio recordings to natural conversational speech in real-world acoustic conditions.
You will be working at the level of expert linguistic judgment. This is not data entry. Decisions about orthography, code-switching, speaker attribution, disfluencies, and non-speech events shape the quality of every model trained on your output.
DIALECT AND SCOPE
Belarusian as spoken across Belarus. Project audio reflects both formal and conversational registers, with awareness of the trasyanka register where Belarusian and Russian mix.
Primary speaker regions: Minsk, Brest, Gomel, Vitebsk, Grodno, Mogilev.
