Job summary

H&R Block, Inc. is seeking an experienced bookkeeper to deliver precise bookkeeping, payroll, and client service in Lincoln City, Oregon. You will post transactions, reconcile accounts, and prepare payroll while supporting client relationships and growth opportunities.

The role requires a high school diploma, 1–3 years bookkeeping, and knowledge of GAAP. Experience with Xero is preferred, and confidentiality and discretion are essential in handling financial data.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• National bookkeeping and payroll certifications from the National Bookkeeping Association, or the ability to obtain them.
• 1–3 years of bookkeeping experience.
• Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and procedures.
• Ability to interpret and apply complete instructions, policies and regulations.
• Ability to treat confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
• Analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to multi-task and work independently.

Responsibilities

• Post financial transactions into subsidiary books and general ledgers.
• Reconcile and balance accounts.
• Generate and analyze financial statements.
• Prepare and process payroll.
• Generate 1099s and W2s and calculate and prepare tax statements.
• Communicate with clients, client suppliers, vendors and banking contacts.
• Assist in client retention and client growth opportunities.
