Job summary

State of Colorado is seeking a Stationary Engineer to support the South District facilities. You will operate high pressure steam boilers, monitor the building automation system, and coordinate maintenance across multiple site buildings in Pueblo.

The role requires 4+ years in boiler operations and a valid Stationary Engineer License or ASOPE equivalent, with a 9‑month window to secure licensure. The job involves shift work, heavy mechanical responsibilities, and occasional travel between state

Qualifications

Requires at least 4 years of work experience in high pressure boiler operations performing preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance.
Must detail experience in the application.
License A or ASOPE or equivalent must be obtained within 9 months of hire.

Responsibilities

Operate and maintain high pressure steam boilers (coal, natural gas, diesel).
Monitor building automation system and respond to alarms on 2nd/3rd shifts.
Notify supervisors for urgent issues and coordinate repair requests.
Maintain plant cleanliness and oversee equipment operation (pumps, valves, motors, ash handling).
Troubleshoot and repair plant machinery to restore operation.
Drive and test diesel-powered emergency generators in line with specs.
