Job summary

LAUKOA is seeking Stationary Engineers to operate and monitor the NIST Boulder Central Utility Plant on a 24/7/365 schedule. You will manage boilers, chillers, air compressors, and the Metasys building management system to ensure safe, reliable plant operations.

Minimum four years of stationary engineering experience are required, with a valid Denver Stationary Engineer Certificate within 180 days. The role involves rotating shifts, reporting alarms, and coordinating with the on‑duty HVAC

Qualifications

• Minimum four years of verifiable stationary engineering experience.
• Experience operating high‑pressure steam boilers and steam systems.
• Experience operating refrigeration equipment.
• Must obtain Denver Stationary Engineer Certificate within 180 days.

Responsibilities

• Operate Central Utility Plant to meet steam, chilled water, and lab air load requirements.
• Monitor alarms and coordinate with on‑duty HVAC Mechanic.
• Perform inspections, log readings, and maintain records.
• Notify management and Government of outages or safety concerns.
• Coordinate safe shift operations as shift supervisor when designated.
