Job summary

Washington State University in Pullman, WA is seeking a Stationary Engineer 2 - Maintenance to support Facilities Operations Steam Plants. You will operate, maintain and repair high‑pressure boilers and associated systems, participate in plant operations, and work rotating shifts as required.

Qualifications

  • Three (3) years of experience in the operation, maintenance and/or repair of stationary or marine high-pressure boilers and heating systems OR Certificate of completion of an Advanced Stationary Engineer course from an accredited vocational/technical school or community college AND two (2) years of experience in the operation, maintenance and/or repair of stationary or marine high-pressure boilers and heating systems OR one (1) year of State service as a Stationary Engineer 1 OR equivalent education/experience.
  • Must have or be able to obtain a Boiler Operator, First Class license within six (6) months of hire date.
  • First Aid, CPR, and AED training are required annually.
  • Must be able to work a rotating shift or relief operations duty as necessary based on Plant operational needs.
  • Ability to respond to worksite on a 24-hour basis.
  • Must have, or be able to obtain by time of hire, a valid driver's license and meet requirements in accordance with SPPM 7.10 and departmental driving standards.
