Job summary

Los Angeles Metro is seeking a Senior Departmental Systems Analyst to lead and coordinate the development of systems for the Office of Board Administration. You will implement and maintain technology supporting the Board's agendas, reports, and meetings, with optional alternate hours about five days per month.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Three years of relevant experience performing systems analysis or computer programming work; some positions may require specialized experience.
• A valid California Class C Driver License or ability to use an alternative method of transportation when needed.

Responsibilities

• Researches functional areas to determine information systems needs
• Performs requirements analyses, feasibility studies, and prepares project proposals for development, enhancement, and maintenance of an information system
• Designs technical systems specifications
• Provides input to consultants regarding systems needs and acceptability of alternatives
• Evaluates systems to ensure requirements are satisfied
• Verifies vendor compliance with contract and work plan
• Monitors systems performance and responds to system emergencies
• Troubleshoots, analyzes, and resolves system problems
• Prepares cost/benefit analyses and justifications for information processing systems acquisition
• Prepares reports, training manuals, and technical documentation
• Creates and modifies microcomputer programs
• Develops advanced microcomputer analytical models and report programs
• Designs advanced decision support tools and models
• Participates in information security, disaster recovery, and safety programs
• Evaluates contracts to information systems vendors
• Oversees, trains, and motivates assigned staff
