Job summary

The Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (CA) seeks a Senior Departmental Systems Analyst to analyze, implement, and maintain information systems supporting the Board Administration function and Metro’s Board of Directors.

You will coordinate system development and optimization, prepare cost analyses, and collaborate with vendors and staff to ensure reliable, compliant technology services. Occasional alternate hours are required about five days per month.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in a relevant field such as Computer Science or Information Systems.
• Three years of relevant systems analysis or programming experience; some roles may require specialized experience in the area.

Responsibilities

• Researches functional areas to determine information systems needs.
• Performs requirements analyses, feasibility studies, and prepares project proposals for development, enhancement, and maintenance of information systems.
• Designs technical systems specifications.
• Provides input to consultants regarding systems needs and acceptability of alternatives.
• Evaluates systems to ensure requirements are satisfied.
• Monitors systems performance and responds to emergencies.
• Troubleshoots, analyzes, and resolves system problems.
• Prepares cost/benefit analyses and justifications for acquisition of systems products and services.
• Develops advanced models and reports using specified software.
• Participates in information security, disaster recovery, and safety programs.
• Oversees, trains, and motivates assigned staff.

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
