Job summary

GE HealthCare in Albuquerque, NM, is seeking a Biomedical Equipment Technician to evaluate, diagnose, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on complex medical equipment, ensuring service excellence and strong customer relations.

The role is on-site at a client site, offers relocation, and is a first shift position with potential site-leader duties; requires 4+ years of field experience and compliance with background checks and health requirements.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Biomedical/Mechanical Engineering or related field with 4+ years of medical equipment experience.
• OR equivalent military education with 4+ years of medical equipment experience.
• OR High School Diploma/GED with 6+ years of medical equipment experience.
• Proficient in electronic documentation using tablets and Office software.
• Experience building strong customer relations across clinical staff.
• Experience interfacing with internal teams and external customers as part of a solution-based service process.
• Strong communication skills to explain technical issues clearly to customers.
• Legal authorization to work in the U.S. and ability to pass background/drug checks.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate complex biomedical equipment issues, perform repairs, PM and safety inspections, and maintain customer relations.
• Lead others on GE policies, hospital protocol, and documentations.
• Maintain proactive daily communication with customers for resolution and follow-up.
• Communicate effectively with teammates and colleagues.
• Support facility contracts and align with customer goals/objectives.
• Lead, instruct, and assist technicians on repairs and resolutions.
• Work with local team to deliver service across accounts in the area.
• Mentor teammates and share best practices.
• Share on-call responsibilities.
• Document repair actions and submit reports on schedule.
• Care for spares, tools, and calibration; maintain parts inventory.
• Coordinate with vendors under GE policies.
• Enhance knowledge of current standards and safety procedures.
• May act as site leader and engage with customer leadership.
• Meet Health and Human Services, EHS, and regulatory requirements.
