Job summary

GE HealthCare is seeking a Biomedical Equipment Technician to respond to service calls, diagnose and repair basic biomedical equipment, and perform planned maintenance. This on-site role located in New Orleans, LA offers relocation assistance and 1st shift coverage. The ideal candidate has an engineering or related degree and is eligible to work in the U.S.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Biomedical, or Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Equivalent military education accepted.
• GEHC Biomed/FE Services Internship or Military Externship program considered.
• High School Diploma/GED with 2+ years of relevant servicing experience acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate basic customer biomedical equipment issues, implement repairs and PM as assigned.
• Assist more experienced technicians on repairs and resolutions.
• Communicate effectively with teammates and customers.
• Follow GE policies, hospital protocol and document work.
• Maintain daily customer communications and ensure follow-up.
• Support contract delivery and align with business goals.
• Work with local team to deliver efficient service across accounts.
• Share on-call responsibilities when trained.
• Document repairs and submit reports per schedule.
• Care for spares, tools and test equipment; ensure calibration.
• Maintain knowledge of standards, codes, and safe equipment use.
• Use manuals, tech support, Facetime and online resources for PM questions.
• Meet Health/Environmental Safety requirements and regulations.

Education

Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field

Equivalent military education

GEHC Biomed/FE Services Internship or Military Externship

High School Diploma/GED + 2+ years servicing electrical, electronics, IT or mechanical equipment
