Job summary

Lattice Semiconductor seeks a Senior BMC Firmware Engineer to own end-to-end firmware for server platforms, translating hardware and product requirements into robust embedded Linux solutions using C/C++, Python, OpenBMC, and Yocto.

You will lead board bring-up, develop manageability interfaces (Redfish, IPMI), ensure secure boot, mentor engineers, and collaborate with hardware, BIOS, QA, and product teams to deliver reliable platforms.

Qualifications

• 6+ years embedded/firmware experience with shipped BMC or similar embedded-Linux products.
• Strong proficiency in C/C++ and Python; deep embedded Linux internals.
• Experience with device drivers, board bring-up, and hardware debugging tools.
• Hands-on experience with OpenBMC / Yocto / BitBake and Git-based workflows.
• Track record of owning features from architecture through release and of debugging complex, multi-component issues.

Responsibilities

• Own the design, development, and validation of BMC firmware end-to-end for server platforms.
• Define firmware architecture and interfaces on firmware (embedded Linux) stack in C/C++ and Python; make and document key technical decisions.
• Lead new board and silicon-vendor bring-up: enable hardware interfaces and sensors and drive platform power-on and stabilization.
• Design and maintain manageability interfaces (Redfish, IPMI) and security/boot features.
• Diagnose and resolve the most complex firmware/hardware issues (kernel, drivers, services, application).
• Establish and enforce engineering quality: unit/integration testing, CI, code review standards, and release readiness.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers; provide technical guidance and grow team capability.
• Lead and maintain firmware documentation (architecture, design, interface, and release notes).
• Collaborate with hardware, BIOS, silicon-vendor, QA, and product teams; represent firmware in cross-functional and customer discussions.
