Job summary

Oracle is seeking a senior staff-level engineer to design and develop prototype BIOS/UEFI firmware for x86 and/or ARM platforms within a highly matrixed environment.

You will review BMC firmware, integrate platform management interfaces such as Redfish and IPMI, mentor engineers, and collaborate with silicon vendors to deliver secure, production-grade firmware across datacenter products.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of firmware engineering experience with senior ownership.
• Knowledge of secure boot, TPM, measured boot and hardware root of trust.
• Hands-on firmware experience in BIOS/BMC firmware for server platforms.
• Strong communication, technical judgment and cross-team leadership.
• Familiarity with server firmware stacks like EDK II and OpenBMC.
• Understanding of UEFI, IPMI, Redfish, PLDM, ACPI, PCIe.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop prototype BIOS/UEFI firmware for x86/ARM platforms.
• Review BMC firmware to align with sensors, security and routing needs.
• Understand firmware interactions across the DC rack.
• Enhance BMC firmware for DC-specific improvements.
• Contribute to OpenBMC and other platform management stacks.
• Integrate Redfish, IPMI, PLDM interfaces.
• Collaborate with silicon vendors on reference code and updates.
• Ensure firmware meets OCI security and deployability requirements.
• Mentor engineers, lead design reviews and set maintainable standards.
