Job summary

Jabil in Austin, TX seeks a BMC Developer to support firmware development, integration, and validation of Baseboard Management Controller firmware for server platforms. You will help deliver robust platform management capabilities and assist with system bring-up and firmware quality.

Join a team collaborating with BIOS, Electrical, Systems, and Validation engineers to address platform issues, improve testing, and contribute to documentation and automation efforts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related technical field.
• 5-7 years of embedded firmware, BMC development, or related software engineering work.

Responsibilities

• Develop and debug BMC firmware features that support system monitoring, control, health reporting, event logging, and remote management functionality.
• Support platform bring-up and firmware integration across hardware, BIOS, and system software interfaces.
• Analyze BMC-related defects, reproduce issues, gather debug data, and support root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Assist with validation of BMC functionality, regression testing, and verification of fixes prior to release.
• Collaborate with BIOS, Electrical, Systems, Validation, and other engineering teams to address system management and platform issues.
• Maintain technical documentation, issue tracking updates, and usage information required for project execution and support.
• Contribute to automation, testability, and continuous improvement of firmware development and debug processes where applicable.
• Provide clear communication of technical risks, status, and open issues to the project team.
